Recommended by the DAAB (German Allergy and Asthma Society)
High concentrations of fine dust in the air have been shown to be a health hazard, as they trigger allergic reactions. Allergy sufferers, and health-conscious consumers generally, are therefore strongly urged to protect themselves more effectively against toxic fine dust in the house. DAAB, the Deutscher Allergie- und Asthmabund e.V. (German Allergy and Asthma Society), promotes this aim, and has now started to issue official recommendations of products that are particularly successful in reducing the amount of fine dust in the air of a room. In future it will be possible for the recommended products to be clearly labelled with a DAAB-supported signet of quality, in trade publications and in product information issued to the consumer. Besides the DAAB logo, the new signet of recommendation also bears the certificate "Suitable for allergic persons" of the TÜV Nord Group and the GUI mark of approval "Effectively reduces fine dust in indoor air".
The precondition of the DAAB recommendation is extensive testing of the products for materials that could trigger allergic reactions. The tests are carried out by TÜV Nord. In addition, a thorough analysis of the product's properties in tying up fine dust has to be carried out by the GUI (Gesellschaft für Umwelt- und Innenraumanaly-tik: Society for Environmental Analysis and Analysis of Domestic Interiors). The recommendation is only given to products that succeed in measuring up to the high standards of the DAAB.
