We have moved on from the approach of the past, with its "end-of-the-pipe" methods, and our focus has now shifted to the production process itself. Rather than extracting (and then disposing of) production waste from the environmental media themselves - i.e. air and water - we have modified the process so that waste is not produced in the first place. This became very clear in recent years during the implementation of large projects in which we were able to significantly reduce environmental pollution.

The new dye kitchen

The new dye kitchen is mounted above the dyeing machines in order to create a vertical flow of materials. At the uppermost level the dye solutions are computer-controlled and therefore prepared, mixed and dispensed to a level of accuracy never before possible. This alone minimizes the occurrence of faulty batches and residual fluff, which can no longer be utilized. We are now also able to manufacture smaller quantities of dye in order to colour smaller batches. Before now this was not possible with the available technology. The dyes flow through the pipes under gravity into the storage tank and from there to the dyeing machines, e.g. the printing facility. Since the pipes drain off, fewer rinses are now required than before. The use of pumps is now almost completely unnecessary.

The creation of residual materials is therefore avoided at the production stage, obviating the need to filter out and dispose of them at considerable cost in terms of time and money. In this way we were able to reduce the dirt load in waste water emitted from the dye kitchen by approx. 80% compared with the previous facility.
