Hamlin, October 2006 - Individual standards in designing workspaces are steadily on the rise. The engine behind the new offer's success is the interaction of the Vorwerk Design Team with internationally renowned textile designer Ulf Moritz, who - in addition to the current collections for the home - is also contributing his creative talents to the contract flooring sector.

Vorwerk and Ulf Moritz are using new materials, intriguing structures and innovative worlds of colour to set new, pointedly textile accents in carpets that are particularly inspiring and offer aesthetic highlights for demanding contract flooring design oriented towards the future. Beyond that, "projection" is the only collection currently on the market that has been recommended by DAAB, the German Allergy and Asthma Association. An indispensable plus for all those who want to design interiors with a sense of responsibility for health and ecological soundness.
With a total of 18 design carpets in a wide range of variations, Vorwerk is paying targeted attention to the special wishes and requirements posed these days by interior furnishers, architects and builders in terms of a contract flooring design that links contemporary flair with an orientation towards the future. Intensive observation of the market and close contact to decision-makers and creative talent from the fields of construction and interior flooring design have contributed to the development of a contract carpet offer that is now even more closely tailored to the industry's needs.
New colours and materials for more creative design ideas
The Vorwerk contract carpet colours for 2007 are clearly defined and distinctive in their appearance, striking and all but unmistakeable. Ulf Moritz artfully manages to forge elegant links to the trendy warmer and softer colours executed in a timeless design. That design plays with elements such as a special ambience, discreet charm and quintessential dimensions. The colours' naturalness is surprising. More intensely than before, red shades in rich variations along with natural nuances in brown, blue and green impart a pleasantly harmonious or even home-like atmosphere to the widest variety of areas within the contract flooring business.
Yet the new "projection" sets standards not only when it comes to aesthetics. The same applies for functionality, too. State-of-the-art high-tech brand-name threads made of Antron® fibres enable not only undreamt of effects in colours and surfaces. In terms of quality and durability, these universally deployable carpet threads are among the highest-grade materials available today for contract wall-to-wall carpets produced to meet demanding standards. From a European Cfl-s1 fire-resistance rating to castor suitability straight through to the best properties for cleaning, "projection" has all the key characteristics for contract carpet installation. The best for health and the environment
An added plus from the new "projection" collection: Vorwerk carpets for contract installation are the first textile floor coverings to be recommended by DAAB, the German Allergy and Asthma Association, because they reduce the amount of fine dust in indoor air by more than 50 per cent. That figure was certified by the GUI (German Society for the Environment and Interior Analysis) and represents a significant contribution towards healthy air indoors. The recommendation can be identified by the special insignia issued by DAAB. The carpets also bear the TÜV (German Technical Certification Association) seal "suitable for those suffering from allergies".
Innovations and the tried-and-true reinvented
14 tufted and 4 high-quality woven products comprise the selection offered by the new Vorwerk "projection", including such bestselling classics as ARENA, FRISEA, VARIA or BISAM. All of them have retained their proven quality, but optically they have been completely revitalised. One of the collection's highlights is FORMA, a contract velours also available in the design variation FORMA design. This series offers diversity and a sophisticated change of pace in over 90 colours and designs for nearly every kind of use in contract installations. Equally represented in the collection are the widely deployable carpets PRACTICA, TECNO and TREMO, whose new design provides for no lack of surprises.
Essential for refined and unlimitedly robust flooring design is of course Vorwerk NANDOU, the classic weave in a plain-hued and a patterned design variation. This popular woven loop will never be missing in a contract carpet offer from Vorwerk.
Four product innovations are reinterpreting flooring design at contract venues.
LEVIN, a tufted loop designed in three colours, belongs to the innovations in the "projection" offer. Its unique feature: a special thread equips the carpet with outstanding dirt-concealing properties, thus making this robust loop excellently suitable for areas of use involving high volumes of traffic.
Vowerk is presenting the new CORONA carpet line in an exciting, shaggy look. With 22 colourations, this extraordinary new product allows comfort to be designed in an unaccustomedly lively form. Whether as inlay work with a retro touch or a stylish futuristic look in the guest lounge, this shag can set the scene in a wide variety of ways. Though it always presents itself as an eye-catcher radiating an exclusively individual aura, it is simultaneously well suited for contract installation.
Another hard-to-match carpet innovation is the new tufted BISAM effect, a high-quality Saxony with a thread mix that generates lots of effects and presents a thrilling, very up-to-date striped structure designed tone-in-tone.
With a pile weight of more than 2 kilogrammes, the stately CARISMA is extremely voluminous and promises luxury of a very special kind. Available as a plain-hued or patterned design variation in a zestful striped design, it lends rooms the greatest of comfort and a very special aura of their own. Its special thread composition gives floors the sweeping back-and-forth shading of velvet.
Full-scale service - from the collection case to special-order production
The new Vorwerk "projection" is being presented in a high-quality, silver-grey collection case fitted with tastefully refined fastenings. Inside, attractive interior photos give an impression of the effects generated by the individual carpets. Needless to say, the well-ordered product samples convey tactile impressions of the carpets themselves.
Another point in favour of Vorwerk's excellent service is the time factor. All carpets from "projection" are continually in stock and available for immediate delivery: an interesting aspect for all those who need to decorate on short notice or whose work must be split up among several time frames. The experienced Vorwerk Logistics Team is able to deliver at any time on a just-in-time basis.
Besides the selection of design offers presented in the case, Vorwerk also offers individualised special-order production for all products. Starting at a minimum order of 400 square metres, tufted products can be produced in any colour or design, and fully in compliance with individual wishes. In the case of woven products, this offer already applies for orders as small as 100 square metres. Woven carpets can be delivered in widths of 200 cm; tufted carpets in the same colours in widths of 400 cm.
Carpet tiles are called for wherever carpets need to be able to be taken up again quickly and trouble-free, for example in areas with raised-access floors. The tiles are equipped with special backings or as continuous lengths with self-levelling coatings underneath for a smooth lie.
